Our story of improving wellbeing at work

Once upon a time, work was just work. A way to bring food to the table. An employer that cared for your happiness was “nice” to have, but not necessary.

A missed opportunity. Because it’s proven that investing in employee wellbeing is a win-win: it increases employee experience, engagement, and productivity. On top of that, it can also reduce sick leave and increase your chances of attracting and retaining talented people. You name it!

Investing in employees is a win-win

Nowadays, businesses invest in their employees by the billions. However, what to improve is based on guesswork, without being able to measure its effects. That doesn’t feel right. Not to mention, ineffective. That’s why we make it our mission to improve wellbeing at work by making it measurable.

Our real-time platform caught on fast

From the start, everyone was all ears. The media and businesses loved us – we were awarded as one of the most innovative startups. Several years in a row! It kind of makes sense, since our services offer strategic value for human resources, facility management, and real estate professionals.

Improving workplace wellbeing since 2016

Our vision to continuously increase workplace wellbeing by making it measurable spread fast. So in 2016, after being financed with a total seed investment of €2M, we embarked on our mission and founded Healthy Workers. However, what we did back then is only a fraction of what we do now.

Delivering plants to increase employee wellbeing

Plants. That’s where it started for us. We delivered beautiful plants to large businesses. Why? Because it’s scientifically proven that plants improve acoustics. Also, workspaces with a strong connection to nature have a positive influence on employee wellbeing.

Measuring workplaces with sensor data

At the same time, we started with mapping out the work environment & indoor climate of workplaces by continuously measuring the physical aspects with sensor data. Even though it improved wellbeing significantly, we found out that if we want to make a real impact, we must look beyond delivering plants.

The rise of our holistic approach

So, we turned a new leaf. We searched far and wide to find the best of the best to join our cause. Together, we started identifying every workplace factor that influences how employees feel with a dedicated team of back & front-end developers and employee wellbeing specialists.

The B3 Well Model

Soon after, the B3 Well Model came to be. This intuitive model forms the holistic foundation of our real-time platform. It holistically identifies all factors in the workplace that influence employee wellbeing. Combined, they allow our Healthy Workers team to get the data needed to measure and improve the wellbeing of employees. Effectively.
